Council's Batemen redux was unanimous!

Due to a notification glitch, the City Council was required to vote AGAIN on the 2nd reading of the Batemen St ordinance last night.  Yes, this was the same vote that was passed on July 2.  The ordinance changed Batemen from 2-way to one way car traffic and includes bike lanes in both directions.

Thanks in part to our supporters taking time to be pressent at the meeting, the final vote was 5 to 0 in FAVOR of the ordinance, so the ordinace passed!

Now the pressure is on to complete the physical work before SU returns for fall class sessions.  I have spoken with Salisbury Public Works (SPW) and they are now charging forward to execute the improvements.

I have given SPW design input on the bike lane layout for the entire section of Batemen St and they are taking my comments into consideration.  I will be sure to keep everyone informed once a bike lane design has been finalzed by Public Works.
